We have an open referral system for Essex residents aged 16+. Time to visit the veryyyyy mulit-talented HOFS artist Juliet Bryson - @julietbrysonstudio

Juliet works her magic with yarn and transforms it into unique and distinctive knitwear. Tucked away in her ground floor studio at HoFs, she uses her vintage hand framed knitting machine to produce clothing and accessories that are sustainable and timeless. She loves working with clients to produce a perfect piece for themselves or as gifts.

Juliet is also part of the amazing @sevenartistsuk collective that regularly shows at the Leigh Art Trail, and a selection of the collectives sketchbooks will also be on display.

Meet creative wonder CAOS artist Nicola Osborne @mrso1234rs

Nicola is not only a marvellous mixed media artist, she is also part of the @southendartclub_ team - which recently hosted a fantastic exhibition @metalsouthend.

Nicola says of her work practice:
"I am an intuitive mixed media painter. My focus is organic and botanical forms, using bold colour, images emerge in intricate layers and glazes"

"I believe art is a visual conversation, helping to facilitate questions and reflections about ourselves and our place in the world. Numerous interests - Museum collections, oceanography, and anthropology are often the starting points for ideas, and artists' books are where all these interests come together.

From early childhood, books have always held a special place in my life. With early memories of delving into the Encyclopaedia Britannica for homework projects and visiting libraries after school. It is no surprise that books continue to feature in my practice.
.
Utilising my background in fine art, I use the book form in its widest sense to create unique handmade pieces. Artists Books, with their sequence of spaces, offer scope for work that can take the viewer on a journey of discovery, a step at a time, both revealing and concealing their content. Furthermore, the experience of holding a handmade book delights more than the mind. It is an intimate, sensory experience - of touch and texture, providing reflection on a ‘moment of time"
